Virtually every person I know, whether it is in my friendships or business relationships, has tried a diet at least once. People diet for many different reasons and there are thousands upon thousands of diets around for us to try. As we age it is really important that we look after our health and our weight. As a health professional, I see so many people who have weight gain related health issues such as cardiovascular disease, arthritis, diabetes, gout to name a few.
The number of cases of cardiovascular disease and cancer is blowing out of control - people are daily being diagnosed with these. Does being overweight (beign fat) really contribute to the risk of developing these diseases. You bet they do. If you are overweight, you owe it to yourself and your family and loved ones to start a plan today to lose your weight now, today. Don't leave it any longer.
Buy a journal and start writing down everything you eat and drink in a day. Do this for one week and take your weight each day as well. As you look back over the week you will be surprised by what you put in your mouth. Pizza's, burgers, fried chicken, fries, pies, crisps etc are not good foods to be eating. A better alternative is fresh fruit and vegetables and the delicious meals you can make out of them.
